"I have to go on record as saying that what they showed us was REALLY DAMNED COOL! I think they hit the box with upwards of 150k packets/s and it didn't even flinch (I could be wrong, but I heard 41 meg a second mentioned). Now, without the distributed mode in place, it would peg the CPU on the firewall and the site was totally unreachable, they'd turn up the service and CPU would drop to almost nothing, the box was quick and responsive and everything seemed normal. "For 7 days we tussled and toiled. For 7 nights we fought against unseen forces that would undo our virtual existence. Our existing firewall, a $10,000 device purchased a mere 5 months prior, did little to thwart the attack. It became laden with requests and eventually denied our ability to manage the device.
